Quando nos entregaram o Discovery, este já vinha com um comando (key fob) Lucas 3TXB (433 MHZ).
Tem dois botões, um para abrir e outro para fechar. Actua no fecho centralizado e no alarme/imobilizador. No RemoteKey fornecem novos comandos ou inclusivé fazem operações cosméticas se enviarmos o comando antigo (key fog reconditioning).
Nunca conseguimos usa-lo muito distante do carro, e em algumas situações não funciona de todo, por exemplo, quando perto de uma barragem (por causa das interferências electro-magnéticas).
O que nos preocupa é que não nos foi fornecido, pelo antigo dono, o cartão de segurança com o código EKA - Emergency Key Access code - que permite desactivar o alarme/imobilizador apenas com a chave no caso de falha/perda do comando.
Neste momento, a prioridade vai para a substituição dos botões de borracha (que estão a ficar muito danificados) e, para tentar minimizar a dificuldade em usá-lo, vou tentar mudar a bateria (CR2032 3V). Processo para o fazer, tal como descrito no manual de utilizador:
- Abrir o comando (as duas coberturas plásticas encaixam-se uma na outra)
- Remover a bateria antiga
- Pressionar ambos os botões, um de cada vez, durante pelo menos 10 segundos (para esvaziar o(s) condensadore(s))
- Colocar a nova bateria, com face positiva "+" para cima
- Cobrir o circuito com as coberturas plásticas
- Pressionar o botão para fechar (o da direita) 4 a 8 vezes próximo do veículo
- Depois pressionar uma vez o botão para abrir (o da esquerda)
dos.Mas, se bem percebi pelas pesquisa que fiz, cada comando tem um código único, inalterável e impossível de copiar. Para que esse comando funcione num determinado LR, tem de ser activado o modo de aprendizagem no ECU desse LR para que o código do novo comando seja "aprendido". E segundo li algures, um ECU pode aprender até 4 códigos (portanto, 4 comandos diferentes).

Vehicles fitted with the Lucas 3TXA, Lucas 3TXB, Lucas 17TN remote key fob (this number is on the back of the key fob).
If your key fob has just stopped working try this:
1. Unlock your vehicle with the key in the drivers door lock, do not open the door.
2. Press the right hand button lock button (the button with the padlock symbol or the dimpled button) on the key fob 4 to 8 times.
If the above fails try this:
1. Open the key fob
2. Remove the battery
3. Press any button 10 ten times, and the same with the other button
4. Refit the battery or a new battery
5. Unlock the vehicle with the key in the drivers door lock, do not open the door
6. Press the right hand button lock button (the button with the padlock symbol or the dimpled button) on the key fob 4 to 8 times
You may have to perform the above sequence if your vehicles battery has gone flat or it is disconnected. If all the above fails you have the EKA code.
The Rover 25 remote key fob uses a rolling code system. When you press the key fob, the code changes every time, and the alarm box in your vehicle also changes its code to match with the key fob. This is a great antitheft system but sometimes the key fob and alarm box codes do not match and the system will not operate.
The most common cause for this is pressing the buttons on the key fob away from the vehicle, the key fob code moves on but the alarm box on the vehicle does not, so the two codes do not match. The key fobs and the ECU control box receiver on your vehicle have a clock, this clock also moves the code even if the key fob is not used.
Programming Lucas Key Fobs
When programming new key fobs, all key fobs are automatically erased from the ECU control box fitted to the vehicle. This is done because if you have lost a key fob or had a key fob stolen, the lost or stolen key fob will no longer work on your vehicle. At the time of programming all key fobs you need to work with the vehicle must be programmed.
The Rover 25 immobiliser system can have up to 4 key fobs programmed.

Tiago, o comando pode ter deixado de funcionar por várias razões. Pode inclusive apenas estar dessincronizado com a ECU. Pode também ser por causa da bateria.

Caso não funcione após várias tentativas, é possível que o comando esteja mesmo com algum problema (botões ou circuito danificado).
Não é possível clonar esse comando, portanto terias de arranjar outro (lojas da especialidade, ebay, ...) e para que o novo comando fique a funcionar no teu rover terás de adicionar à ECU esse e outro comando que tenhas (através de uma máquina de diagnóstico).
